Senhas cracks double century as DSS post 370 for four wickets declared

Skipper Gaviru Senhas accomplished a remarkable achievement as he scored a double century for D.S. Senanayake to post a commanding 370 for four wickets declared against arch rivals Mahanama on day one of the 18th Battle of the Golds Big Match at the SSC ground on Friday.
Senhas and one down bat Malitha Perera flayed Mahanama after they were put to bat as they scored centuries to propel D.S. Senanayake to a commanding total.
By tea Senhas was unbeaten on 168 runs (162 balls) after having hit 24 fours and a six in his knock. Later the batting opener went on to post an unbeaten double century in 189 balls before declaring their innings. He scored 27 fours and two sixes.
Senhas and Perera put on 248 runs for the second wicket.
Perera consumed 152 balls for his 118 runs which included 16 fours.
