Semi-finalists found in Under 12 boys’ and girls’ singles

Minhas Mututhanthri registered a 2-0 win to complete the semi-final lineups of both the girls’ and boys’ Under 12 singles of the Tennis Nationals 2022 continued at the Sri Lanka Tennis Association courts on Sunday.

Mututhanthri beat Mayooran Kubheran 4-1, 4-2 to secure the Under 12 boys’ singles semi-final berth against top seed Risith Somaratna. The latter advanced to the semis with a 4-1, 4-1 win over Chamath Dharmarathne in his quarter-final played on Saturday.

In the bottom semi-final Rahil Rizvie is set to meet number two seed Ashlin de Silva after the duo edged out Yudeeraya Atapattu (4-1, 4-2) and Ramon Sritharan (5-3, 4-2) respectively.In the Under 12 girls’ singles quarter-finals played on Saturday, Yuhansa Peiris,  Annaya Norbet, Sandathi Usgodaarachchi and Akesha Silva beat their counterparts to advance to the semi-finals.

Yuhansa Peiris beat Hesandee Mallawa 2-4, 4-2, 11-9

Annaya Norbet beat Gianna Perera 4-2, 5-3

Sandathi Usgodaarachchi beat Oshini Gunarathne 4-1, 4-0

Akesha Silva beat Chiara de Zoysa 4-0, 4-1

Under 12 Boys’ 

Rishith Somarathne beat  Chamath Dharmarathne 4-1, 4-1

Rahil Rizvie beat Yudeeraya Atapattu 4-1, 4-2
