Sell eggs by weight

Although the price of eggs in the market goes up daily, the size is getting smaller. Producers are facing many problems in running their poultry farms, and as a result they increase the price. Consumers are helpless in this situation, and have to buy whatever is available – irrespective of the size or the price of an egg.

As a rational solution to both parties – producer and consumer, can’t the Ministry of Trade direct the producers to sell eggs by weight, not the number. Many fruits, vegetables etc. which were sold in the past by numbers are now sold by weight. It would be easier and more practical.
