St. Sebastian’s College, Moratuwa reached the semi-finals of the Under 19 Division I Tier ‘A’ tournament as they scored first innings points against their arch rivals Prince of Wales in the quarter-final at Narahenpita on Friday.

Skipper Manuja Chanthuka picked up five wickets to restrict their opponents to 147 runs in the first innings before ending up with a match bag of nine wickets

The Sebs came to the match after having beaten their arch rivals in three different formats of the Battle of the Golds. First, they beat the Cambrians outright in the two-day Big Match. Then they beat Cambrians in the limited overs Big Match and the T20 Big Match. The quarter-final was the ideal opportunity for Cambrians to take sweet revenge and at one stage it looked as if they were ready to do that as they restricted the Sebs to 118 in the second essay. They had a target of 146 runs to chase but were 68 for five wickets when rain ended the match.
