Skill Development and Training International Institute (SDTI) was recently chosen as the Best Emerging University in the region at the South Asia Business Excellence Awards (SABEA) 2022 held in Dhaka, Bangladesh, last week.

A press release said that the event was attended by trailblazers of the corporate sector, as well as political leaders and diplomats in the South Asian region. SDTI is not a stranger to local and international recognition. It has won numerous awards, including the Prime Minister’s Award in 2011, the United Nations Educational Gold Award 2013-2014, the National Excellence Award in 2018 and the Award of Excellence at Asia Awards, held in India, in 2021.

The SDTI Campus offers a range of courses – from Diploma level to Doctoral programmes – in Sinhala, Tamil and English languages. It is affiliated with the Skill Development Fund of the Ministry of Finance. All the degree programmes are recognized by the University Grants Commission, and students have easy access to credit facilities provided by State Banks. The University understands the needs of the modern student and allows the flexibility to study while working.

SDTI Campus Chairman Attorney-at-Law, Dr. Shan Bandara, said that SDTI courses are designed to help students achieve greatness in their professions. “This is what’s unique about our campus. We are aimed at creating well-rounded professionals,” he said. The SDTI Campus offers a range of courses, such as counselling, management, banking, business studies, teaching, nursing, medical technician, pharmacist, IT, engineering, fashion designing, drama and presenting and languages. The campus has a branch network that spans the country and students can also follow courses through distance learning.
