Schools reopening put off by three days to Feb 05

The Education Ministry yesterday announced that it had put off the date of commencing the new school term for the year by three days, to Feb 05.

Earlier, the Ministry had planned to commence the term on Feb 02.

However, following a leak of the Advanced Level Examination Agriculture Paper I and II, it deciding to hold the examination afresh for those two papers on Feb 01.

Examinations Commissioner General Amith Jayasundara said that arrangements have been made to hold the special examination of the Agri Science I and II papers on Feb 01. The Paper I would be held from 8.30 to 11.30 am and Paper II would be held from 1 to 3 pm, he said.
