SLPP MP Namal Rajapaksa yesterday (15) said the SLPP always respected the judiciary. He said so when the media sought his response to the Supreme Court ruling on the fundamental rights case that Gotabaya Rajapaksa, Mahinda Rajapaksa and Basil Rajapaksa and several others are responsible for mismanaging the economy.

MP Rajapaksa said that being fundamental rights petitions, only written evidence was considered and no oral evidence called. The best place to discuss the economic crisis at length was Parliament, he said. A select committee could make an in-depth analysis of the matter, he noted. A PSC already in place to investigate the economic crisis was capable of extensively calling for evidence and cross-examining the same, the MP added.
