‘Sapugaskanda Oil Refinery’ to become a separate state enterprise

The Cabinet of Ministers approved the proposal presented by the Minister of Power and Energy to establish the Sapugaskanda Oil Refinery as a separate state enterprise, so that it could be upgraded through  local and foreign private sector investment.

The Sapugaskanda Oil Refinery was established in the year 1969 and is the only fuel refinery in Sri Lanka at present.
