Sandaru, Jeewaka post unbeaten stand

Opener Sandaru Theekshana and Jeewaka Shasheen posted an unbroken fourth wicket stand of 119 runs as Devapathiraja, Ratgama posted 230 for three wickets at stumps on day one of the Under 19 traditional match against St. Thomas’ at Uyanwatta Stadium on Monday.

Only 62 overs were possible on day one after the match got off to a delayed start due to wet ground conditions. At stumps, Theekshana was unbeaten on 97 runs while Shasheen was not out on 64.

At Colts ground, Pathum Malitha took five wickets as Dharmasoka restricted Lumbini to 171 runs. Chanaka Jananga and Senitha Halambage shared the other five wickets to fall.

Nalanda batted at a snail’s pace against Richmond and were bowled out for 158 runs in 99 overs at Dombagoda. Spinner Malsha Tharupathi grabbed six wickets for Richmond.
