Sai Kishore, Tewatia help Gujarat Titans prevail in low-scoring clash
R. Sai Kishore produced a fine display of spin bowling on a conducive Mullanpur track, his four-fer restricting Punjab Kings to a measly 142 before Rahul Tewatia applied the finishing touches to a chase that could have gone awry after a string of wickets fell in the post-PowerPlay phase.
The victory, the Titans’ fourth of the season, keeps them within touching distance of the playoff positions. The Kings, on the other hand, have lost four of the five games they’ve played at home.
Brief scores:
Punjab Kings 142 in 20 overs (Prabhsimran Singh 35, Sam Curran 20, Harpreet Brar 29; R. Sai Kishore 4-33, Noor Ahmad 2-20, Rashid Khan 1-15, Mohit Sharma 2-32) lost to Gujarat Titans 146/7 in 19.1 overs (Shubman Gill 35, Sai Sudarsan 31, Rahul Tewatia 36*; Arshdeep Singh 1-17, Harshal Patel 3-15, Sam Curran 1-18, Liam Livingstone 2-19) by 3 wickets.
