Ruwan beats Ravi to become UNP Deputy Leader
Former MP Ruwan Wijewardene was yesterday elected the deputy leader of the United National Party (UNP) through a secret ballot held at UNP Headquarters Sirikotha.
Wijewardene vied with former MP Ravi Karunanayake for the post. Wijewardene obtained 28 votes while Karunanayake only obtained 10.
Former MP Ranil Wickremesinghe will remain as the leader of the UNP, at least until January 2021.
