Rs 3 mn fraud: Damitha and spouse further remanded

Actress Damitha Abeyratne and her husband, arrested over allegedly cheating a person out of Rs 3 mn, have been further remanded until 24 April by the Colombo Fort Magistrate’s Court.

The order was given when they were produced in Court yesterday (17).The actress and her spouse, who had been evading the police, were arrested when they appeared before the Court on 04 April.

The CID is conducting investigations into the alleged scam.The Fort Magistrate’s Court also rejected a writ petition looking to prevent their arrest.An Aragalaya activist, Damitha Abeyratne joined SJB last year.
