Rs 10,000 bonanza for disabled Army personnel, dependents of those killed in action

The Army has taken steps to increase the salaries of disabled Army personnel and payments made on behalf of those killed in action by Rs. 10,000 with effect from May.

The Army has said that President Ranil Wickremesinghe at the request of the Commander of the Army agreed to grant an increment of Rs 10,000 to troops, considering the financial difficulties faced by army personnel.

This has been added to their monthly ration allowance with effect from April 2023, and subsequently added to their monthly salary.

“However, due to an administrative delay, the increased allowance was not added in May to the salary of disabled Army personnel and payments made on behalf of dead Army members.
