Royal take major honours as Gishan bags nine wickets

Spinner Gishan Balasooriya had a match bag of nine wickets as Royal took major honours against Thurstan in the Under 19 Traditional cricket encounter which ended in a draw at Reid Avenue on Wednesday.

In their second innings Thurstan compensated for their dismal first innings performance as Tharindu Harshana anchored the top order with a valuable 96 runs for them to post 287 for nine wickets declared. He scored 11 fours and faced 199 balls for his knock.

Later chasing a target of 196 runs to win Royal were 83 for two wickets at close with Uvindu Weerasekara top scoring with an unbeaten half century.
