Royal College Colombo made a brilliant effort in the second half of their Division 1 Segment A Group 1A under 19 match against St. Joseph’s College to pull off an exciting 17 points to 3 win at Havelock Park yesterday.  The winners collected their points through three tries and a conversion while the Josephians managed to slot in just one penalty. Royal led 7-3 at the ‘breather’.

Royal really produced thunder in the latter stages of the second half and sealed the game thanks to tries coming from hooker Danuja Samararatne and Hansaka Hikgoda. In some other matches of the Division 1 Segment A Group 2 A scheduled for July 23 (Saturday) Isipathana College battle Dharmaraja in Colombo while St. Peter’s host Wesley at Bambalapitiya. In the same group Science College will host Vidyartha College at their home grounds in Ratmalana.

Also scheduled for today is the Division 1 Segment A Group 1A match between Trinity and Kingswood at Pallekelle.  The other match scheduled for the fourth week in the tournament is between S. Thomas’ College Mount Lavinia and St. Anthony’s College which will take place at Havelock Park.
