Rohan de Silva elected uncontested as president of Sri Lanka Badminton
Rohan de Silva retained his position at the helm of Sri Lanka Badminton (SLB) at the Annual General Meeting held at the SLB Headquarters Auditorium in Colombo, on Monday.
De Silva, who has been at the helm of the country’s badminton governing body since 2019 was the sole contestant for the post of president.
The general election also witnessed the appointment of several other key office bearers who will work closely with President de Silva to support and regulate the sport in the country.
The newly elected Vice Presidents include Roshan Gunawardane, Rohan Fernando, Buddhika de Silva, Chamara Aluthge, Dinesh M Jayawardane, Mohan Wijesinghe, and Aliyar Faizer. Their combined experience and expertise are expected to provide valuable insights and strategic guidance to the association.
Taking up the crucial position of Secretary is Ajith Wijayasinghe, and the newly elected Assistant Secretaries are, K P Jaliya Jayasekera, and W P G Punchihewa.
Mangala Gamage is the treasurer. Renu Chandrika and R M S G Rathnayake are the Assistant Treasurers.
The newly elected office bearers of the Sri Lanka Badminton Association will begin their terms immediately.
