Revised prices of imported milk powder to be announced on Monday

The Milk Powder Importers will announce the revised prices of their products on Monday (11). The importers told the media yesterday that 16 milk powder containers were to be released from the port on 11 October.

Milk powder will then be released to the market by Wednesday (13). Importers plan to increase a kilo of imported milk powder by between Rs. 250 and Rs.300.

Earlier, the importers stopped bringing in milk powder after the Consumer Affairs Authority (CAA)

announced that a kilo of imported milk powder can only be increased by Rs.200 and a 400 gram packet by Rs.80. The importers claim that the price in the world market has increased along with shipping costs. (RK)
