Request for Maha Sangha to recite the ‘Ratana Sutta’
The highest Sangha council advising Sri Lankan High Commissioner to India Milinda Moragoda has requested the Maha Sangha to recite the ‘Rathana Sutta’ in every temple in the country on Saturday 01st May for the benefit of all humanity, the most affected Indian citizens, and finally Sri Lankans also being overwhelmed by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Issuing a press release, the Uttareethara Sanga Consultant Sabawa, including Ven. Dr. Niyangoda Wijithasiri Anunayaka Thera says that not only our neighbouring country, but the entire world is facing a severe crisis due to the epidemic. In such a backdrop, the ‘Rathana Sutta’ is being chanted at every temple in the island, wishing all the people of the world protection from COVID-19.
