Registrar of Companies questioned over Rs 85 mn project to scan documents

The Committee on Public Accounts (COPA) has called for a comprehensive report from the Department of the Registrar of Companies after it transpired during recent inquiry into Rs 85 mn that had been spent on scanning documents, but they had not entered into the computer system.

COPA Chairman Lasantha Alagiyawanne, MP, has sought an explanation in this regard.

He has questioned why all scanned documents related to registration hadn’t been fed into the system.
