Level III landslide early warnings issued to Galle, Kalutara, Ratnapura and Matara districts

The Landslide Early Warning Center of the National Building Research Organisation has issued Red alerts to the District of Galle, Matara, Ratnapura and Kalutara. In addition landslide early warnings have been issued to the districts of Colombo, Gampaha, Hambantota, Kandy and Kegalle.

Accordingly, Level III ‘Red’ landslide early warnings have been issued to the Divisional Secretariat Divisions and surrounding areas of Elpitiya, Galle Four Gravets, Nagoda and Yakkalamulla in the Galle district, Ingiriya, Mathugama and Walallawita in the Kalutara district, Pitabeddara in the Matara district and Kuruwita in the Ratnapura district.

Level II ‘Amber’  landslide early warnings have been issued to the Divisional Secretariat Divisions and surrounding areas of  Neluwa in the Galle district, Walasmulla and Katuwana in the Hambantota district, Bulathsinhala, Dodangoda and Palinda Nuwara in the Kalutara district, Dehiowita and Deraniyagala in the Kegalle district, Athureliya, Akuressa, Kotapola, Hakmana, Welipitiya, Thihagoda, Kamburupitiya, Malimbada, Matara, Kirinda Puhulwella, Pasgoda and Mulatiyana in the Matara district and Eheliyagoda, Elapatha, Ratnapura and Kalawana in the Ratnapura district.

Level I ‘Yellow’ landslide early warnings have been issued to the Divisional Secretariat Divisions and surrounding areas of Padukka and Seethawaka in the Colombo district, Imaduwa, Thawalama, Ambalangoda, Akmeemana, Bope Poddala, Baddegama and Niyagama in the Galle district, Mirigama in the Gampaha district, Beliatta and Okewela in the Hambantota district, Agalawatta, Beruwala and Kalutara in the Kalutara district, Pasbage Korale in the Kandy district, Ruwanwella, Bulathkohupitiya, Kegalle and Yatiyanthota in the Kegalle district and Ayagama, Weligepola, Kahawatta, Nivithigala, Imbulpe, Kolonna, Opanayake, Kiriella, Godakawela and Pelmadulla in the Ratnapura district
