Re-enter: Oliver Twist

Oliver Twist has made a comeback….

From the West’s ‘satanic mills’,

To the Indian Ocean’s wilting isle,

Where sweat shops could thrive,

Since child labour has got the nod,

And the market’s ‘Invisible Hand’,

Could seize with a deadly clasp,

Every hapless soul that counts,

And made to slave until they drop,

In the land’s bid to scramble out,

Of its entombing debt trap,

But here’s the tragedy to watch:

Children are now sans parental love.
