Ravana’s Spell

Raksha King Ravana of Ramayana fame,

Who over the drifting Isle’s nodding folk,

Had cast a long mesmeric spell,

Is now more fully at centre stage,

And is made to body forth,

A ‘Nation’s’ hopes and dreams,

By zealous carriers of past luggage,

But it should be easy to see,

That the seductive Ravana project,

Has a sharp double-edge:

On the one hand,

A local super hero has emerged,

Who would be a mass scale opiate,

On the other hand,

An attempt is taking shape,

To cut down to size,

Cult figures in big neighbouring states.
