Ranuda-Rahal stand helps Trinity

Trinity overcame a top order collapse to post 267 for nine wickets at stumps against Nalanda as Ranuda Somaratne and Rahal Amarasinghe scored valuable half centuries on day one of the Under 19 traditional cricket encounter at Campbell Place on Monday.

After Lisura Sigera took the first two wickets for just eight runs to trigger a top order collapse, Somaratne dropped anchor with a valuable knock of 91 runs. He faced 127 balls and scored five fours and three sixes in his innings. The fifth wicket stand that he put on with Amarasinghe was worth 133 runs. Amarasinghe’s run-a-ball 75 included 12 fours and a six.
