Ranjan at Manusha’s apartment!

Contrary to former Samagi Jana Balavegaya (SJB) lawmaker Ranjan Ramanayake’s claim that he has returned to the apartment where he lived at the time he lost his parliamentary seat in April 2021, he had handed over that house some time back, according to sources.

Parliament has since allocated the apartment to Nanayakkara, who did not return it after receiving a ministerial portfolio in the current administration and moving to a better house.

Nanayakkara and Harin Fernando accepted ministerial portfolios from the then President Gotabaya Rajapaksa, on May 20 – just a week after UNP Leader, Ranil Wickremesinghe, received appointment as the Prime Minister. Both were re-appointed by Wickremesinghein Julypending finalisation of a fuller Cabinet. (SF)
