Ranil always saves country, says UNP Chairman

UNP Chairman Wajira Abeywardena yesterday said that the party and its leader Ranil Wickremesinghe had always saved Sri Lanka from difficult situations.

“Whenever the country finds itself on the verge of an economic meltdown, it is Ranil Wickremesinghe who finds a solution. Wickremesinghe, as the new Prime Minister, has once again taken up the responsibility to secure the future of the nation,” Abeywardena has said in a statement issued to the media.

Abeywardena says the UNP has rescued and rebuilt Sri Lanka over the past few decades, but he laments that their efforts are often undermined by opposing political elements. He referred to the economic crisis of 2001 and 2015, where Ranil Wickremesinghe, as Prime Minister, stepped up to restore stability.

The UNP Chairman says Wickremesinghe has s a strategy to provide solutions to the public at large and the protestors at Galle Face and fulfil the aspirations of the youth of this country.
