Ramaswamy shines as Global Cricket Club record victories

Tej Ramaswamy excelled with a century and a half-century as hosts Global Cricket Club (GCC) enjoyed back-to-back victories in their Under 13 tournament matches worked off recently.

Ramaswamy, Chanuth Haradasa (106), Gagana Abilash and Thisaga Perera scored the bulk of runs to propel GCC Reds to 309 for four wickets, the second-highest total of the tournament to record huge 228 runs victory against Raddoluwa Academy. Later in the tournament, Ramaswamy, who top scored with 105 (rtd.) runs, put on a stand of 206 runs with Mihela Minthaka to power the team to 298 (for two wickets) runs against RI Academy.

GCC – Red (309/4) beat Raddoluwa Academy (81) by 228 runs

Openers Tej Ramaswamy (51) and Mihela Minthka (23) got the Reds off to a solid start. A 152 runs partnership followed between Chanuth Haradasa (106) and Gagana Abilash (57). Thisaga Perera then added the finishing touches with 43 runs in 17 balls. For Raddoluwa, Demethra Pahasara picked up two wickets. The GCC bowlers led by Warsha Sathsara (3 wickets), Tathsilu Methum and Thisaga Perera (two wickets each), dismissed Raddoluwa for 81 runs.

GCC Red (298/2) beat RI (48/5) by 250 runs

Openers Tej Ramaswamy (105 rtd.) and Mihela Minthaka (81) slammed 206 runs in only 110 balls, and Thisaga Perera (52 n.o.) and skipper Aken Dias (29) continued the run-fest, as GCC – Red scored 298 for two wickets in 23 overs to register a massive 250 run win over RI Academy.
