Ramanayake caught with mobile phone in Welikada prison hospital

Prison officers have seized a mobile phone from former SJB MP Ranjan Ramanayake, who is currently in the Welikada Prison Hospital.
Former MP Ramanayake, who was convicted of Contempt of Court and is serving time at the Angunakolapelessa Prison, was brought to Colombo recently to treat a knee ailment.
During a search of the prison hospital around 10pm on Sunday, prison officers on duty found the mobile phone and a hands-free set in Ramanayake’s possession.
Ramanayake was admitted to the Karapitiya General Hospital in Galle with a knee ailment on 10 Nov. from the Angunakolapelessa Prison and later transferred to the Colombo National Hospital on the advice of the doctors at Karapitiya.
Later, he was admitted to the Welikada Prison hospital.
