Professional journalists in the provinces handed over documents for the registration of district professional journalist trade unions at the Department of Labour on Monday.

The documents of registration were handed over to Commissioner General of Labour Prabath Chandrakeerthi, who handed them over to Assistant Commissioner of Labour (Trade Unions) Thelma Karunaratne.  General Secretary of the Federation of Media Employees Trade Union Federation (FMETU) Dharmasiri Lankapeli was present at the handing over.
