Promotions in Army in view of Victory Day Anniversary

One hundred and fourteen officers and 1,395 other ranks of the Army have been promoted to their next ranks in view of the 15th Victory Day Anniversary.

President Ranil Wickremesinghe, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, made these promotions based on the recommendation of the Ministry of Defence and Army Commander Lieutenant General Vikum Liyanage.

The promotions have been made effective from May 19, 2024 which is the National War Heroes Commemoration Day.
