Prof. CJ appointed acting Health Minister

Prof. Channa Jayasumana was appointed Acting Minister of Health yesterday, as Health Minister Pavitra Wanniarachchi is undergoing home quarantine after receiving treatment for COVID-19. Prof. Jayasumana, a Viyathmaga member, is the State Minister of Pharmaceutical Production, Supply and Regulation.

The President’s Office announced the acting appointment as Wanniarachchi left the IDH hospital after recovery for home quarantine.

The government created the post of State Ministry for Primary Health Care, Epidemics and COVID Disease Control for Dr. Sudarshini Fernandopulle.
