By Saman Indrajith
A case filed against businesswoman Thilini Priyamali, who stands accused of significant financial frauds, will be taken up on 11 August, Colombo High Court Judge Adithya Patabendige announced in court yesterday (05).
The order was issued during the hearing regarding the misappropriation of 8 million rupees, which Priyamali allegedly obtained from an individual in Matara in 2010 after promising him that she will provide him with a vehicle.
However, Priyamali did not appear in court, and her attorney informed the court that she is currently undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Colombo due to an illness.
In response, the judge adjourned the case until 11 August and instructed the defence to produce a medical report for the defendant on that date.
The Attorney General has filed the case.
