Prez wants free trade pact with Singapore inked

President Ranil Wickremesinghe yesterday (16) directed relevant officials to implement the Singapore-Sri Lanka Free Trade Agreement (SSLFTA).

Instructions were issued at a meeting held at the Presidential Secretariat. Among those present were Attorney General Sanjay Rajaratnam, PC, and presidential advisor on economy Dr. R.H.S. Samaratunga, the Yahapalana era Finance Secretary.

Sri Lanka and Singapore finalised SSLFTA on January 23, 2018, and it came into operation on May 1, 2018.
