Prez says he’ll issue statements only through Speaker’s Office

President Gotabaya Rajapaksa, in a statement issued yesterday (11) through the Presidential Media Division (PMD) said that all his communiques would be issued via the Office of the Speaker. Therefore, the public should consider his statements issued through the Speaker’s Office as official. This was issued soon after the Prime Minister’s Office announced that President Rajapaksa had informed them of his previously announced decision to resign on 13 July.
