Prez inquires into loss making Sri Lankan and CPC paying bonuses

President Ranil Wickremesinghe has called for an explanation from the Chairmen of SriLankan Airlines Asoka Pathirage, and Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) Mohamed Uvais, on payment of bonuses at a time both institutions were running at a loss, the Presidential Media Division said last night.

A senior official told The Island that the President issued instructions in this regard soon after the issurance of bonuses was brought to his notice. SriLankan Airlines and the CPC come under the purview of Ministers Nimal Sirpala de Silva and Kanchana Wijesekera, respectively
