Prez discuss Japanese funding for projects here
President Ranil Wickremesinghe, during his recently-concluded visit to Tokyo, met Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) President Dr. Akihiko Tanaka, and Governor of Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) Nobumitsu Hayashi. The meeting took place at a dinner hosted by Ambassador Rodney Perera at the Sri Lanka Residence, in Tokyo.
The discussion focused on funding of infrastructure and other projects to boost the economy in Sri Lanka. JICA is the governmental agency that delivers the bulk of Official Development Assistance whereas JBIC is a policy-based financial institution of Japan, and conducts lending, investment and guarantee operations while complementing the private sector financial institutions.
