President tells people not to be misled by false propaganda

President Gotabaya Rajapaksa on Thursday night said that allowing farmers access to land, which they had been using for a long time did not amount to environmental destruction.

Addressing the female representatives and activists of the SLPP at the Presidential Secretariat, the President said that some people were spreading misinformation about the government.

President Rajapaksa urged the general public to look at the government policies and their expected impact before taking decisions on the progress made by the government.

While protecting the environment was important, development was also vital, he said.

President Rajapaksa added that the best way to control the cost of living was to increase production and income.
