President attends 2024 IORA Day celebration at Galle Face Green

President Ranil Wickremesinghe attended the 2024 IORA Day celebration at Galle Face Green today (10). The theme for 2024 IORA day is “Ensuring a Sustainable Indian Ocean for Future Generations”.

The Indian Ocean Rim Association (IORA) established in 1997,  comprises 23 Member States and 12 Dialogue Partners and stands as a crucial platform for fostering regional cooperation. Sri Lanka’s assumption of the Chair of IORA last year marked a pivotal moment, with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs spearheading  the inaugural ‘IORA Day’.
