Prelates of Malwatte and Asgiriya bless Speaker

Mahanayake Thera of the Malwatta Chapter most venerable Thibbatuwawe Sri Sumangala Maha Nayaka Thera requested Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena to ensure that MPs behaved well in Parliament. The Thera made this request when the Speaker visited him recently.

MPs’ misconduct had tarnished the image of Sri Lanka’s image internationally, the prelate said, asking the Speaker to take measures to enforce discipline in the Parliament.

The Speaker also called on the prelate of Asgiriya Chapter, most venerable Warakagoda Sri Gnanarathana Thera who too blessed him.
