Prasanna won’t switch allegiance to Prez

Urban Development and Housing Minister and Gampaha District SLPP strongman Prasanna Ranatunga yesterday (27) said he wouldn’t switch allegiance to President Ranil Wickremesinghe.

Minister Ranatunga gave this assurance at a meeting chaired by SLPP Chairman Mahinda Rajapaksa at Arachchikattuwa, where organised gangs set fire to State Minister Sanath Nishantha’s residence on 09 May.Yesterday’s public rally was the third in a series held under the patronage of former Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa to revive the party in the wake of a spate of defections.Minister Ranatunga was among those who didn’t participate at the vote on the 21st Amendment endorsed by parliament on Oct 21 (SF)
