A group of PPEs wearing Jaffna policemen had to carry a group of youth who violated quarantine laws, to the police station on Wednesday (05) evening. The young men had been loitering in the town without wearing masks and had refused to co-operate when the police had attempted to arrest them.

It was revealed that the youth had arrived in the town without any pressing need.

When the Police tried to arrest them, some of the youth lay on the ground and started shouting at the Police, who called in some PPE-clad personnel to carry the protesting youth to the police station.

On Wednesday, the Jaffna police filed cases against 42 people for violating quarantine laws.
