The biggest Poson pandal erected in Europe was on display in the forecourt of the Sri Saddhatissa International Buddhist Centre in Kingsbury for one week as part of the Poson celebrations organized by the temple under the patronage of the Chief Incumbent, Aggamahapandita Ven. Galayaye Piyadassi, MBE.

The sixty five foot pandal depicting the life story of Patachara was inaugurated by Sri Lanka’s High Commissioner in London, Ms. Saroja Sirisena, who participated in the Poson celebrations at the Viharaya with the staff of the High Commission on June 24.

There were large crowds to view the pandal throughout the week in keeping with Covid-19 guidelines issued by the British government.

Funds donated to the temple by the public during the Poson celebrations will be channeled towards the welfare of underprivileged families affected by Covid-19 in Sri Lanka.
