Poser for authorities particularly for Education Ministry

Civil society activist Isuru Prasanga yesterday urged the Education Ministry to find out how children ended up in brothels and as domestic aides when they should be really studying in schools.

Prasanga said Parliament should look into the matter. Referring to the statutory rape of a 15-year-old girl and the death of another 16-year-old girl who had been a domestic aide at former Minister Rishad Bathiudeen’s Baudhaloka Mawatha residence, Prasanga said that an efficient mechanism was needed to monitor those deprived of an education.
