Police tighten security for Easter Sunday

The police had launched a special programme in view of Easter Sunday (09), Police media spokesman SSP Nihal Thalduwa told the press yesterday.He said that policemen would be deployed in churches on Sunday.

SSP Thalduwa said that if there was a shortage of policemen in an area, police top brass would call in the Police para-military arm STF and military personnel.

He said that ever since the Easter Sunday attacks on 21 April 2019, police had paid special attention to ensuring safety at religious establishments during important events.
