Police sniffer dogs auctioned

KANDY – Twenty five sniffer dogs of police were sold by auction at the Kandy police kennel on Saturday 15.

A sniffer dog fetched the highest price of Rs.101,000.

The dogs sold by auction were those that served the police for over ten years and now they had been succeeded by younger ones, police said.

Among those present at the Asgiriya police kennel during the auction were top brass of the Kandy police and members of the public, including some members of the Maha Sangha.
