Police raid ‘ICE’ factory at Chunnakam

The Jaffna District Crime Prevention Division has raided a home-lab producing a stimulant drug, Crystal methamphetamine (‘ICE’) at Chunnakam.

Jaffna SSP Jagath Wishantha said that acting on information elicited from a suspect, the raiding party had taken into custody equipment used to produce the synthetic drug.

Police are looking for the owner of illicit facility.

He is said to have been a member of the Ava group operating in Jaffna.

Samples taken from the lab were sent to the Government Analyst for investigation.

Further investigations are being conducted by the Jaffna District Crime Prevention Division.
