PM’s office refutes reports he is about to quit 

The Prime Minister’s Office yesterday rejected reports that Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa would resign from his post.

A statement signed by the PM’s Media Secretary Rohan Weliwita said: “There is absolutely no truth to the reports published on mainstream media and social media, over the past couple of days and today (03), claiming that Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa will resign from his position.”

Weliwita said that he strongly condemned such false reports intended to mislead the people of the country.
