PM house fire: Another suspect remanded
Colombo Fort Magistrate Thilina Gamage last Thursday ordered to remand another suspect who was presented to the court in connection with the burning of Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe’s private house until July 20. Kollupitiya Police presented the suspect to the court and the police requested the court to conduct an identification parade regarding him.
The police informed the court that extensive investigations have been started regarding the incident.The police stated that the investigation will be conducted based on various evidences including CCTV footage. Three other suspects arrested by the Kollupitiya Police in connection with the incident have been remanded.The Prime Minister’s private residence was set on fire by the protesting mobs during protests on Saturday (July 09) night.
