PM had marathon schedule in 2020
Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa held 62 discussions on religious affairs, banking and finance, industry, culture, arts and sports, and matters related to different professions, from 01 January to 31 December 2020, according to a report by his office.
During the same period, the Prime Minister submitted 32 Cabinet Memoranda and 16 Cabinet Notes.
This year his office also plans to publish three Coffee Table Books on the Prime Minister’s Office (Sirimathipaya), Temple Trees and Premier’s House in Nuwara Eliya highlighting its archaeological, architectural and historical importance.
In 2020, the Prime Minister also received 76,503 letters, 240,000 phone calls, 851 emails and 1,057 faxes from members of the public. 9,550 visitors also arrived at his office with various requests, the PM’s Office said. Out of these requests 8% were job requests, 10% were housing requests while 3% were on political victimization.
Premier Rajapaksa also met 12 high level foreign delegations and met diplomats on 52 occasions in the past year.
