PM asks his staff to work from home
Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa yesterday asked the staff at the Office of Prime Minister and all Ministries under his purview to work from home to reduce fuel consumption.
The Prime Minister said Sri Lanka had been able to eradicate terrorism through patience of the people. Public cooperation had also made the battle against the pandemic a success, he said.
“Let’s unite to overcome the current challenge. I know the country is facing unprecedented challenges. One of the ways to address the fuel shortages is for people to work from home and I have advised those who work for me to do so,” he has said issuing a statement.
The Prime Minister has said that even during power cuts, his officials are trying their best to complete their work.
“As a government we are sensitive to the plight of the people. We are taking steps to address them,” he said.
