PM announces names of civil persons appointed to Constitutional Council

Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawardena announced in Parliament yesterday the names of civil persons appointed to the Constitutional Council.

The Prime Minister in his capacity as the minister of Public Administration, Home Affairs, Provincial Councils and Local Government, announced that the Parliament resolved that the under mentioned persons who not being Members of Parliament to be appointed to the Constitutional Council on the nomination of both the Prime Minister and the Leader of the Opposition under sub-paragraph (e)(iii) of paragraph (1) and paragraphs (4) and (5) of Article 41A of the Constitution of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, be approved by Parliament in terms of paragraph (5) of Article 41A of the Constitution: Dr. Prathap Ramanujam, Dr. Dilkushi Anula Wijesundere and Dr Weligama Vidana Arachchige Dinesha Samararatne.
